Calaguas Island, Camarines Norte: Pristine White Sand & Ultimate Disconnect

by Haifa Carina

When you’re in a long stretch of pristine white shores and no cellular signal, all you want to do is become an ultimate beach bum! Oh, the joy of no laptops, no phones (except for photos) and just good times with friends.

My friends and I went to Calaguas Island, Camarines Norte last June 18-19. After an 8 hour road and boat ride, Calaguas welcomed us with its the clear bluegreen waters and pure white sands.

Below are some of the fun things you can do in Calaguas:

  • Swimming
  • Trekking
  • Snorkeling at nearby rocks
  • Kayak
  • Beach Volleyball (feel your weight through the sands)
  • Eat ice candy (plenty of them selling there. Buko salad ftw!)
  • Or just lay and relax on the sand

Our budget for the whole trip was just P2,800 per person all in (transportation & meals) for a 2D1N trip. Thanks Calaguas Super Express for making it happen!
