When I attended my first tech event, it was an iOS Code Camp organized by DevCon Philippines. That time, you can only count with your fingers the tech events happening in a month. Meet the DevCon Philippines Officers 2017 + the outgoing Executive Director (me)! It’s been officially 2 months since Anthea stepped in as the new Executive Director for DevCon and they’ve been doing a good job especially on the creatives and volunteers engagement. Flew back to my hometown Cagayan de Oro this weekend to give a talk on Relevant Skills in the IT industry for the 9th Quantum and I.T. Convention (QITC). I had a momentary appreciation of legacy in action. I’ve spoken to many events before but this one is more dear to me. 6 years ago I led a team for QITC 4. There weren’t many conventions then in my city. We hosted the event in the same exact room. Pure nostalgia.

  The best conferences are those driven by passion.
