On its third year, DEVCON will once again bring the Biggest Developer Conference in the Philippines to the flourishing city of Cagayan de Oro. With the theme “The Future of Jobs, Embracing Industry 4.0”, this event is set to happen on November 9, 2019 at Capitol University. Bringing together 500 developers from all over Mindanao, this year’s summit will focus on how developers can leverage emerging technologies, evolve their skillset, and develop best practices. Flew back to my hometown Cagayan de Oro this weekend to give a talk on Relevant Skills in the IT industry for the 9th Quantum and I.T. Convention (QITC). I had a momentary appreciation of legacy in action. I’ve spoken to many events before but this one is more dear to me. 6 years ago I led a team for QITC 4. There weren’t many conventions then in my city. We hosted the event in the same exact room. Pure nostalgia.
