When I attended my first tech event, it was an iOS Code Camp organized by DevCon Philippines. That time, you can only count with your fingers the tech events happening in a month. When you’re in a long stretch of pristine white shores and no cellular signal, all you want to do is become an ultimate beach bum! Oh, the joy of no laptops, no phones (except for photos) and just good times with friends. 

Being the ambitious girl that I am, I have engaged myself in so many things I believe are valuable in reaching my dreams. Most of the time I am having fun with each of these engagements. The challenge was how to balance dream, career, work and relationships. 

Summer in the Philippines is a wonderful time not just for beach but for mountain climbing. Last weekend (Apr 23-24), we conquered was Mt. Hugom in San Juan, Batangas. The view at the summit was so beautiful during the day and dramatic at night!  

I’ve jumped off cliffs, diving boards and falls for the thrill and butterflies. Luckily, these activities don’t require proper swimming skills to enjoy, just guts to stay afloat for seconds until you can reach something (or someone!) to hold-on to. However, so much of these water activities are best experienced without the life vest on, so we learned how to swim.
